Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers to the questions every founder asks before paying for Painbase.
- 01
What is Painbase?
Painbase is a paid SaaS that turns the loudest customer complaints across the open web into validated startup ideas. We scan 11 sources every 1–3 hours, score complaints by pain intensity, and hand you a Build Kit per saved idea — a Claude-Code-ready SKILL.md plus a 7-day validation playbook, competitor map, and customer-interview script.
- 02
Where does the data come from?
Eleven public channels: Reddit (50+ subreddits including r/brasil, r/brdev, r/Entrepreneur), Reclame Aqui, App Store, Google Play, Hacker News, TabNews, IndieHackers, Product Hunt, GitHub Issues, X, and the open web via Exa.ai semantic search. Every problem in your feed links back to the original post — click any card to read the underlying complaint on the platform it came from.
- 03
How are problems scored?
Each mention is scored on three dimensions: pain intensity (how upset the person sounds), recurrence (how often the same complaint repeats across sources), and signal-to-noise (a real actionable problem vs. a one-off vent). The composite is a 0–100 score; only items above your threshold land in your feed. Scoring is deterministic — same complaint, same score, every run.
- 04
What’s a Build Kit?
Save any problem and Painbase generates four documents tailored to it: SKILL.md (drop into Claude Code or Cursor as an agent spec), validation.md (7-day cheapest-test playbook), competitors.md (direct + indirect competitors with positioning notes), and interview.md (8–12 customer-discovery questions). Founder plan includes 10 kits/month, Architect 50, Enterprise unlimited.
- 05
How is this different from Google Trends, surveys, or LLM brainstorming?
Trends tells you what people SEARCH for. Painbase tells you what they’re ANGRY about — willingness-to-pay starts with frustration, not curiosity. People lie to surveyors but tell the truth on Reddit at 2 a.m.; Painbase listens to the 2 a.m. version. An LLM generates plausible ideas; Painbase generates validated ones — every saved problem comes with receipts: real complaints from real people, traceable to the source.
- 06
Does Painbase work for non-Brazilian brands?
Yes. We index global sources (Reddit, App Store, GitHub Issues, X, the open web via Exa) plus Brazilian-specific ones (Reclame Aqui, TabNews, HardMOB, r/brasil, r/brdev). Roughly 60% of indexed mentions are global, 40% Brazil-specific. Filter by language and category in the Explore feed to slice either way.
- 07
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Stripe handles billing; cancel from your profile and you retain access through the end of the current period. No retention calls, no questions asked. Build Kits you’ve already generated stay in your account permanently — public-share URLs you minted keep working after cancellation, so you don’t lose distribution surfaces you’ve already shared.
- 08
Limits and what we don’t promise
Painbase is a research + ideation tool. We aggregate public complaint data and score it; we do not guarantee any startup built from a Painbase signal will succeed, do not vet competing companies for legal or trademark issues, and do not guarantee that any individual complaint represents a generalizable market opportunity. Users assume all liability for execution decisions. The data is a starting point, not an oracle — use it intelligently.
